Introduction
There are so many blogs on technical information and not a lot of the art of software management. I have given enormous thought on how to manage people and software products. How to create a company that embodies not only creating great software, but creating leaders. The set of people who will move the company strategically to the next level.
Each blog posting will cover a topic. The topics will not be in any particular order, but keep in mind many of the topics and ideas are intertwined, meaning they maybe more successful when implemented together.
One theme that I will try to repeat over and over again is metrics. Metrics are a dangerous thing; however if you are clever and thoughtful about them you can use them to measure how successful your software organization is. I will not dwell on them anymore here as they deserve seperate postings.
What you will you read here are solely my thoughts and ideas shaped by my experiences in the software industry and based on readings. I encourage you to comment on postings as the art of software management has no right or wrong answers. Everything is a shade or grey and/or a balancing act.
I know I will make numerous grammatical mistakes. I hope readers of this blog will be able to over look them and enjoy my thoughts and ideas.
